Job Description for this position:
TITLE: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
QUALIFICATIONS:   
Master's Degree or higher;
Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (Nationally Certified); Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst;
Exceptional communication skills;
Licensure as determined by the State Department of Education and Workforce;
Shall possess a valid driver's license; and
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of Pupil Services
JOB SUMMARY: To conduct behavioral assessments, analyze data and interpret results, design behavior interventions, and provide training and support to school personnel.                                         















PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develops and implements appropriate written functional behavior assessments and behavioral intervention methods for use in familiar/unfamiliar situations and for a range of cases;
  2. Participates in child study/school teams, provides feedback on behavioral assessments, interventions, and strategies;
  3. Provides technical support and in-service training programs for teachers and other staff on applied behavior analysis including: discrete trial training, establishing classroom schedules, overall classroom management, data collection, and the implementation of specific instructional and behavioral strategies in the student's natural environment;
  4. Consults and provides parent and staff training to support intervention plans at school and in the home and community;
  5. Provides regular services reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with implementation of behavior plans as well as Individual Education Programs and possibly 504 Accommodation Plans;
  6. Serves as a liaison between school and other agencies;
  7. Provides programming supervision and support of Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts, Registered Behavior Technicians and/or Paraprofessionals.
  8. Fulfills the same time schedules as all teachers at respective buildings as to time of arrival and departure at school (except as determined for each child's needs building site of service as determined by special education director).


OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings;
  2. Participate in visioning, strategic planning, and service design for DCESC;
  3. Build strategic alliances and superior relationships with Darke County school personnel and students;
  4. Help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values;
  5. Remains free of an alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout employment in the ESC in accordance with Board Policy 3122.01 or 4122.01; and
  6. Conducts other duties related to the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services.


ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
  2. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
  3. Occasional interaction among unruly children.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Employed on a 190-day contract.
  2. Salary to be established as per salary schedule.
  3. Holidays as per board policy.
  4. Retirement and Sick Leave days accumulated as determined by board policy.

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director of Pupil Services in cooperation with the person being evaluated.
