About Hospitality Purveyors Inc

Hospitality Purveyors Inc (HPI) is the exclusive design and procurement arm for all Sandals Resorts International properties which are wholly-owned and managed resorts

About the Position: 

Under the general direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Agent – Ops., and Eng., is responsible for leading the procurement and supply chain activities of Resorts specifically focusing on equipment, operational and engineering needs. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the timely and effective sourcing of equipment, goods, and services. Effectively coordinates shipments and collaborates with internal departments to support business functions and ensure expectations are met. 

 Roles and Responsibilities:

Manage Operational Requisitions for all Engineering, and Operational specifications as submitted by resorts

Validate description and specifications meet the requirements and timeline

Work with Project Managers on processing all Site Requisitions for all MEP and Equipment

Hands-on approach to requirements specification for the procurement and the manufacturing of products

Lead communication with the Resorts Engineering, Operational Team as well as Project Managers

Preparing and submitting RFQ’s (requests for quotations)

Analyze proposals, negotiating price/lead time to identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies

Prepare, process, and monitor purchase orders accurately and promptly

Establish delivery expectations and logistics along with Projects Team and Operations

Address discrepancies between purchase orders and received goods

Along with Department Manager proactively identify areas of deficiency impacting production

Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers

Implement corrective actions to maintain quality

Ability to guide, prioritize and execute own efforts with minimal direct supervision

Communicate with supplier and internal and external customers

Collaborate effectively with Resorts engineering team and stores to understand their specific needs

Weekly review and updating of Open POs, Invoices with Jr. Team

Communicate with suppliers on incorrect deliveries and ensure they are addressed in a timely fashion

Proactively and effectively communicate internal & external teams & supplier any lead-time conflicts

Manage the reconciliation efforts, which includes resolving any discrepancies, obtaining all supplier and carrier, invoices and/or credits and submitting them to the accounting department for immediate processing.

Generate procurement reports on an as needed basis

Core SRI Interaction Aptitudes:

Work closely with Resorts Engineering and Operational Teams and Management to meet Operational sourcing objectives

Facilitate and participate on Operational and Project meetings effectively

Work cross-functionally to resolve and/or escalate SRI/Resorts concerns or issues in a timely fashion

Manage day-to-day SRI/Resort interaction

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

Qualifications and Experience:

2-or 4-year college degree preferred

3-5 years purchasing of MEP – Hospitality Preferred

Knowledge of import procedures and practices

Specific Knowledge and Skills Required:

Knowledge of import procedures and practices

Understating of Oracle Procurement Process

Must be proficient with the entire Microsoft Office suite of products

Must have solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Must have solid time management and prioritization skills

Must have sound analytical skills

Must have solid customer service and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing (English)

Ability to communicate effectively with management, co-workers and external parties

Ability to walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions
