To thrive as a Resort Tester, you need a strong background in hospitality or travel, observational skills, and often a degree in hospitality management or a related field. Familiarity with review platforms, digital photography, and booking systems is typically required to document and evaluate experiences accurately. What is a Resort Tester?

A Resort Tester is a professional who visits and evaluates resorts to assess the quality of their accommodations, amenities, customer service, and overall guest experience. Resort Testers often write detailed reviews or reports for travel companies, hospitality organizations, or travel publications. Their feedback helps improve services and provides valuable insights for potential guests. This role may involve traveling to various destinations, staying at different resorts, and providing objective, honest evaluations. Resort Testers are expected to have strong observational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Resort Testers often encounter challenges such as maintaining objectivity during their stay, managing tight schedules to evaluate multiple amenities, and effectively documenting detailed feedback. Balancing the guest experience with professional assessment can be demanding, especially when interacting with staff and other guests. To address these challenges, it's important to follow a structured evaluation checklist, allocate time for thorough note-taking, and communicate expectations clearly with resort management prior to arrival. Collaboration with other testers or review teams can also help ensure comprehensive coverage of all resort features.
