Business Development Representative (BDR) Manager

Flex

Remote

$90K - $125K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Flex is building the AI-native private bank for business owners.
We're re-architecting the entire financial system for entrepreneurs-from the first dollar a business earns to how that value compounds, moves, and is ultimately spent in real life. Banking, credit, payments, personal finance, and financial operations-rebuilt from the ground up as a single, intelligent system. Flex is the full financial home for ambitious owners.
Since launching publicly in September 2023, Flex has scaled from zero to nine-figure annualized revenue, with a clear path to profitability by late 2026. We move fast, ship relentlessly, and operate with extreme ownership.
Our customers are affluent business owners ($3-$200M in revenue)-the backbone of the economy and one of the most underserved segments in finance. They're stuck with outdated banks and fragmented tools. We're replacing all of it. The opportunity is massive: a ~$1T+ revenue market hiding in plain sight. Our ambition is to build a $100B+ company by delivering a product that is fundamentally better-not incrementally improved.
Flex has raised $100M+ in equity and $300M+ in debt.
- Mission-critical problems: We build software that directly controls how money moves at scale.
- High bar, low ego: Small teams, exceptional people, real ownership.
- Speed over comfort: We prioritize execution, quality, clarity, and results.
- Enduring impact: What we're building will define how a generation of owners runs their businesses.
Team & Locations
We hire exceptional people who want to build hard things and see their work matter immediately. Roles are available in: San Francisco, Miami, New York, and fully remote.
Flex Fuels Ambition.
About the role
We're looking for a frontline BDR Manager to lead a team of 7-9 IC BDRs and report directly to our Head of Sales Development. You'll be the day-to-day coach, performance manager, and operator for the team - owning ramp, pipeline pacing, and the AE+BDR pod motion that drives our top of funnel.
This is a player-coach role for someone who loves building teams, not managing dashboards. You'll have real input on hiring, comp, tooling, and how we run outbound - and a direct hand in scaling the BDR org through its next phase of growth.
What you'll do
  • Manage and coach 7-9 BDRs through weekly 1:1s, call reviews, and pipeline reviews
  • Own ramp and performance management for new hires and existing reps
  • Drive the AE+BDR pod motion - joint account work, weekly sprints, creative outbound
  • Partner with the Head of Sales Development on team strategy, hiring, and quota planning
  • Work cross-functionally with AEs, Marketing, RevOps, and Enablement to keep the team set up to win
  • Hire and onboard the next layer of the BDR team alongside Recruiting

What we're looking for
  • Prior experience as a BDR or SDR yourself before moving into leadership - you've sat in the seat and made the calls
  • Prior experience leading a BDR or SDR team as a manager, team lead, or player-coach
  • A track record of coaching reps to quota and managing pipeline metrics (SQLs, conversion, ramp)
  • Fintech background strongly preferred - financial infrastructure, payments, spend management, or B2B fintech experience is a major plus
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment where decisions get made quickly and priorities shift
  • A naturally cross-functional operating style - you build relationships across AEs, Marketing, and Ops without friction
  • Strong communication and a coaching-first mindset, with the ability to hold a high bar on accountability

We don't have a hard years-of-experience requirement. If you've done the work, that's what matters.
Nice to have
  • Experience with our tech stack: Salesforce, Apollo, Orum, Claude
  • Experience hiring and ramping BDRs at a Series A-C startup

Why join Flex
You'll lead one of the most important teams in the company at the moment it matters most. The BDR org is set to roughly double over the next 12-18 months, and you'll have the chance to shape how it operates long-term - the ramp, the pod structure, the hiring bar, the culture. Direct line to senior leadership, real equity, and the kind of problems that make the next role on your resume an easy one to land.
Compensation: $90,000-$125,000 OTE plus equity
Location: Remote, US-based, with occasional travel for off-sites
Employment type: Full-time
