Job Description:
The Combo BDM/CDM position retains and grows current customers and improves the profitability of current accounts, while also developing profitable new customer business to meet or exceed assigned quotas for revenue and new accounts. This role carries an established book of roughly 75 accounts in the Evansville, IN market, with a secondary territory in Bowling Green, KY (approximately a 2-hour drive south). The CDM Combo will focus management attention on the retention and satisfaction of current accounts, while also being responsible for prospecting and developing profitable new customer business within their assigned sales territory.
Compensation & Commission Potential
Base salary: $58,000/year, plus uncapped commission.
  • Realistic first-year total take-home (base + commission): typically mid-$80,000s to mid-$90,000s

This territory is coming out of an extended, multi-year freight recession and the market is turning, creating strong upside for the right candidate willing to build long-term relationships here.
Essential Functions
  • Manage and grow an established book of business (~75 accounts) while also prospecting and developing new business across the assigned territory (Evansville, IN and Bowling Green, KY)
  • Educate and develop the customer's interest in additional Ryder services (Full Service Lease, Programmed Maintenance, Lease Financing, Fleet Management Services, and Dedicated Contract Carriage)
  • Educate and develop the prospect's value perception of Ryder services using the Ryder Sales Process
  • Develop sales plans and analyze the profitability of accounts, fully understanding the competitive influences and risks within each account
  • Build a local presence and genuine relationships within the assigned territory, as customers in this market prefer doing business with people and companies rooted in their own community
  • Plan road time efficiently across a territory that spans two markets roughly two hours apart
