POSITION DESCRIPTION:The position will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency performance of the shift batching team. They maintain close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel to ensure and maintain product quality and efficient production.
SHIFT: Must be willing to work night shift; 12 hours per day 2/2/3 Schedule.

LOCATION: The position is based at DrinkPAK's headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.
TYPE: Full Time; Salaried / Exempt.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partners with Batching Manager to support daily activities of assigned shifts, ensuring product adheres to Drink Pak's & customers' safety and quality standards and meeting production schedules.

  • Communicate with the previous shift's Supervisor regarding any challenges, opportunities, callouts, or upcoming changes to prepare for the shift.

  • Assists with batching as needed and preparing for scheduled changeovers.

  • Utilizes the daily end-of-shift report to understand and comment on downtime and communicate appropriately.

  • Maintains effective working relationships with team members through open communication, visibility, and involvement to promote a positive working environment that maximizes safety, employee engagement, productivity, and performance.

  • Drive Root-Cause Analysis to resolve production issues and create sustainable improvements.

  • Responsible for team member coaching and development, employment decisions, and resolving issues through conflict resolution. Hires, trains, coaches, and reviews the performance of team members. Partners with the Human Resources department and Process Manager for recruitment, corrective actions, and terminations.

  • Orders and inspects raw materials before changeovers to ensure correct inventories for production runs. Performs first-pass quality checks after changeovers to prevent non-conforming products. Verifies inventory consumption by batch for traceability and ensures in-house inventory is correct.

  • Conducts walkthroughs throughout the shift to ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping compliance by team members.

  • Interfaces with multiple departments within the organization to meet customer deadlines.

  • Collaborates with plant leadership and shift team members to champion a world-class safety culture.

  • Manage highly automated, complex manufacturing processes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Promote and encourage safe working practices.

  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality-related policies to meet product quality standards.

  • Monitors and reviews assigned team members' time and attendance for accuracy and monitors PTO schedule and usage by team members.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical background/education preferred.

  • At least 4-5 years of demonstrated leadership on a high-speed manufacturing floor, preferably in the beverage manufacturing industry.

  • At least 4 years in a similar position in Batching

  • Understanding of production processes and controls

  • Demonstrable leadership skills and ability to lead by example.

  • Clear experience initiating change and ability to utilize change management principles.

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts when needed, holidays, and weekends required.

  • Ability to multi-functional work between departments.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
