Job Title: Batcher
Location: Janesville, WI

Reports To: Batching & Inventory Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:
The Batcher is responsible for preparing product batches according to established standards and specifications. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong mathematical skills, and adherence to safety and quality protocols. The Batcher will collaborate closely with the production team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality output.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Batch Preparation:
    • Prepare batches according to specific product formulas and specifications.
    • Calculate and weigh raw materials accurately based on batch requirements.
    • Monitor the batching process to ensure adherence to standards.
  2. Quality Control:
    • Review mixing sheets to verify product specifications and processing information.
    • Inspect batches to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all batch activities.
  3. Maintenance and Safety:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory safety standards and practices.
    • Conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Complete daily batching schedule controls and ensure all paperwork is accurate.
    • Verify lot numbers for accuracy and address any discrepancies promptly.
    • Maintain logs of all work performed and report findings to the Batching & Inventory Supervisor.
  5. Collaboration and Training:
    • Work closely with other production associates and supervisors to coordinate batch preparation activities.
    • Assist in training new batchers on procedures and best practices.
    • Communicate effectively to address any operational concerns.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing environment; experience in food production preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurement and calculations.
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in food safety or manufacturing processes is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Capability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving reaching, bending, and climbing as needed.


Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Work in a production facility with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and potential contact with cleaning chemicals.
  • Safety: Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are required.
