Full Service Law Firm seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal to join their team!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of bankruptcy paralegal experience preferred
  • Litigation and E-Discovery experience is a plus
  • Experience with Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings
  • Familiarity with court filing procedures
  • Ability and knowledge with electronic filings
  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads
  • Knowledge of Best Case and NetDocuments software
  • Experience with  Business Restructuring, Insolvency, Creditors’ Rights a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bankruptcy Case Management
  • Manage cases from inception through closing
  • Prepare and file Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 petitions
  • Draft schedules, Statements of Financial Affairs, and Chapter plans
  • Prepare monthly fee statements and interim/final fee applications
  • Draft and file First Day pleadings
  • Legal Drafting & Research
  • Perform legal research and summarize legal documents
  • Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, charts, and proofs of claim
  • Review and summarize pleadings, court dockets, and case documents
  • Litigation & Trial Support
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation
  • Coordinate exhibits, trial notebooks, and demonstratives
  • Draft default papers and settlement agreements
  • Assist with preference, fraudulent transfer, and recovery actions
  • Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, court appearances, and meetings
  • Communicate with clients, trustees, creditors, and court personnel
  • Prepare real estate closing packages
  • Format and file pleadings in State Court, Bankruptcy Court, and District Court
