Job description

Description:

Lead the Way to Intelligent Banking with Us!

You might not think about what happens behind the scenes when you check your bank balance or deposit a check from your phone, but we do. Every day.

Kinective empowers banks and credit unions to move beyond keeping up with technology to shaping the future of banking. Our platform seamlessly connects the right tools, delivers real-time data, and drives smarter operations for more than 4,000 financial institutions nationwide. We are a fast-growing team built on individual ownership, company-wide collaboration, and setting industry-leading standards. Here, new ideas are encouraged, candid feedback is welcomed, and your growth truly matters as much as the companyโ€™s. At Kinective, we are leading the way to intelligent banking together and enjoying the journey along the way.

Why This Role Matters

Every role at Kinective exists to move the needle for our clients, partners, and the financial institutions we serve. As our Manager of Project Management, you will lead a team of project managers responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering initiatives that span product, engineering, operations, and client-facing programs across the organization.

Reporting to the Director of Program Management, you will own the performance and development of your PM team, drive consistency in how projects are scoped, tracked, and delivered, and serve as a key operational partner to senior leadership. This is a player-coach role with real scope and real accountability. You will manage and mentor your team, lead delivery on select high-visibility initiatives directly, and be the connective tissue that keeps cross-functional programs moving with clarity, momentum, and rigor.

Requirements:

What Youโ€™ll Own

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers โ€” setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, running structured 1:1s, and creating development plans that grow each PMโ€™s skills and career trajectory
  • Own team performance management, including goal-setting, mid-year and annual reviews, and addressing performance gaps directly and constructively
  • Build team capacity through hiring: partnering with Recruiting and HR to attract, evaluate, and onboard strong PM talent as the team scales
  • Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement โ€” where PMs feel empowered to escalate blockers early, advocate for their stakeholders, and hold themselves accountable to commitments

Project Delivery & Program Oversight

  • Maintain a clear, real-time view of portfolio health across your teamโ€™s active projects โ€” tracking scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies โ€” and escalating issues to leadership before they become delivery failures
  • Lead delivery directly on select strategic or high-complexity initiatives, serving as the senior PM accountable for cross-functional alignment, stakeholder communication, and on-time, on-scope completion
  • Establish and enforce consistent project intake, scoping, and prioritization processes that allow leadership to make resourcing decisions with confidence
  • Run structured project reviews, retrospectives, and lessons-learned sessions that generate actionable improvements the team applies to future delivery cycles
  • Leverage AI-powered project management tools and workflows โ€” including intelligent scheduling, automated status reporting, risk prediction, and resource optimization โ€” to increase team throughput, reduce administrative overhead, and surface delivery insights that would otherwise require manual analysis

Process, Standards & PMO Practice

  • Own and continuously improve Kinectiveโ€™s project management standards, templates, and playbooks โ€” ensuring PMs across the team operate from a shared methodology that is rigorous without being bureaucratic
  • Define and maintain the PM toolkit: project charter templates, RAID logs, status report formats, milestone tracking frameworks, and stakeholder communication cadences
  • Drive adoption of the project management platform (Certinia, Salesforce, etc.), establishing hygiene standards that make portfolio data reliable and reportable
  • Partner with the Director of Program Management to evolve the PMO operating model as the organization scales, including governance structures, capacity planning, and portfolio reporting cadences

Cross-Functional Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Sales, Client Success, and Operations โ€” acting as a reliable partner who brings clarity, not noise, to cross-functional conversations
  • Facilitate alignment across competing priorities and stakeholder groups, running structured decision-making forums and ensuring the right people have the right information at the right time
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership on release planning, dependency mapping, and capacity trade-offs to ensure project commitments are grounded in realistic delivery constraints
  • Represent the PM team in executive-level program reviews, preparing concise portfolio dashboards and risk summaries that enable leadership to make informed prioritization and resourcing decisions

Client-Facing Program Support

  • Partner with Client Success and Implementation teams on client-impacting projects, ensuring external commitments are accurately represented in internal plans and that escalations reach the right owners with urgency
  • Support the development of client-facing program reporting and milestone communications, maintaining Kinectiveโ€™s reputation as a delivery partner that is transparent, accountable, and responsive
  • Provide PM coverage and hands-on leadership for client implementations or integration projects that require dedicated coordination across internal and external stakeholders

How Weโ€™ll Measure Success

Success here isnโ€™t about checking boxes โ€” itโ€™s about propelling Kinectiveโ€™s mission to lead the way to intelligent banking. You must bring excellence to your craft, balance structure with speed, develop your people relentlessly, and continuously raise the bar as we innovate and grow. Specifically, you will know youโ€™re winning when you are:

  • Running a PM team that consistently delivers on commitments โ€” on time, on scope, and with stakeholders who trust the process and the people running it
  • Developing PMs who grow visibly over time, take on increasing scope with confidence, and speak of your leadership as a meaningful part of their career
  • Maintaining strong PM utilization across your team โ€” with PMs consistently meeting or exceeding Individual Incentive Utilization expectations through effective assignment planning, coaching, and workload management
  • Maintaining a portfolio that leadership can read clearly โ€” with accurate status, early risk visibility, and no surprises at the finish line
  • Driving measurable improvements in delivery velocity and team efficiency through the adoption of AI-enabled tooling and smarter project processes
  • Operating as a credible cross-functional partner โ€” someone Product, Engineering, and Client Success actively bring in early because your involvement makes outcomes better

Necessary Qualifications & Competencies

  • 6+ years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in a people management or team lead role overseeing other PMs in a B2B SaaS, fintech, or technology company
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent, cross-functional projects with competing priorities โ€” keeping delivery on track while maintaining stakeholder trust and team morale
  • Strong command of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid) and the judgment to apply the right approach for the scope and context of each initiative
  • Hands-on proficiency with project management platforms such as Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, or equivalent โ€” with a high standard for data hygiene and portfolio visibility
  • Proven ability to manage upward and laterally: skilled at synthesizing complex project status for executive audiences and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification preferred; Agile or SAFe certification is a plus
  • Experience with AI-enabled project management tools or demonstrated curiosity and initiative in applying AI to improve team workflows is strongly preferred
  • Banking, fintech, or financial services industry experience is a plus; experience managing client-facing implementation or integration programs is a plus

Pay, Benefits & Total Rewards

$95,000 โ€“ $105,000

The salary range listed reflects the minimum and maximum for this role. Individual compensation is based on experience, qualifications, job-related skills, location, and internal equity, and most offers are not made at the top of the range.

Base pay is one part of Kinectiveโ€™s Total Rewards package. Depending on the role, employees may also be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or equity. All employees have access to a competitive benefits package designed to support health, well-being, and financial security, including:

  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision, prescriptions, life & disability)
  • Flexible PTO, 11 company holidays, and generous parental and caregiver leave
  • An immediately vested 401(k) with company contributions
  • Wellness resources and professional development opportunities
