About the Role

The Banking PMO Program Manager Senior Lead provides strategic leadership for a portfolio of enterprise initiatives, programs, products, and investments that support business objectives and organizational priorities. You will partner with senior leaders across business, technology, finance, operations, and client-facing teams to optimize portfolio performance, governance, and investment decisions. This role drives delivery excellence through effective prioritization, resource management, financial stewardship, risk mitigation, and measurable business outcomes. Success is defined by strategic alignment, stakeholder satisfaction, portfolio health, and realization of business value.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead governance, planning, and execution across complex portfolios, programs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Align portfolio priorities with business strategy, client commitments, operational goals, and organizational objectives.
  • Establish and enhance portfolio management frameworks, governance standards, reporting practices, and delivery methodologies.
  • Drive portfolio prioritization based on business value, risk, investment return, resource capacity, and strategic alignment.
  • Monitor portfolio performance through financial metrics, delivery milestones, benefits realization, and key outcome measures.
  • Develop portfolio roadmaps, investment recommendations, forecasts, and executive-level insights to support decision-making.
  • Identify and mitigate portfolio risks, dependencies, constraints, and implementation challenges across multiple initiatives.
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to define priorities, allocate resources, and ensure successful delivery of strategic outcomes.
  • Lead and mentor program and project leaders, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze portfolio demand, resource utilization, and organizational capacity to optimize delivery performance and investment value.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, technology, project management, or skills-based equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience leading enterprise portfolios, programs, strategic initiatives, or PMO functions in complex organizations.
  • Strong expertise in portfolio governance, strategic planning, investment management, prioritization, and business case evaluation.
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, forecasting, financial performance, resource planning, and cost optimization.
  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives involving business, technology, product, and operational stakeholders.
  • Advanced risk management, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational change management capabilities.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with portfolio management, project management, reporting, analytics, and resource planning tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within financial services, fintech, banking, payments, capital markets, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Agile, or equivalent.
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation, modernization, digital strategy, or technology-enabled business initiatives.
  • Knowledge of portfolio governance frameworks, regulatory environments, risk controls, and operational excellence practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, product-based, and traditional portfolio delivery models.
