Job description

With a rapidly changing banking landscape, West Monroe Partners is looking for a Sr. Business Development Executive to join our growing national team. Specifically, driving new management/technology consulting business in the Banking Industry. You will provide support to the practice leaders and delivery teams on a variety of new business initiatives.  This is an outstanding role for somebody that is looking to take on a leadership position and advance their business development career with a fast-growing company.  The highly successful Business Development Executive will have proven experience selling into banks and also an established network of contacts within the US banking industry.  We offer highly competitive compensation and benefits packages. 

Responsibilities  

  • Leverage your personal network of Banking and Financial Services Industry relationships across the US to secure executive-level introduction meetings to generate new business 
  • Research new prospects, new contacts, and map/segment the marketplace; and manage and grow contacts 
  • Attend industry conferences across the country to introduce West Monroe to new prospects and understand the latest industry trends 
  • Lead personal, networked-based sales pursuits across the East Coast 
  • Significant generation of weekly prospecting/networking activities (events, meetings, phone calls, emails) in the pursuit of new client acquisition and brand awareness 
  • Work with the West Monroe Leadership team members to further expand the firm's Banking and Financial Services Practice 
  • Continually scan the marketplace for pending RFPs/RFIs at Financial clients 
  • Lead Origination, Conversion, Pursuit and Close 
  • Manage "working the funnel" of your leads and opportunities to move them through from origination to close. 
  • Collaborate and drive pursuit team and advise on strategy, positioning and messaging of introductory meetings, proposals and closing efforts. 
  • Provide leadership around the sales pursuit process and proposal delivery teams for Key Accounts 
  • Identify and develop unique, industry-specific alliance partners that can drive leads to West Monroe 
  • Create and drive industry-based, outbound programming and call follow up into new prospects and existing accounts for opportunity identification qualification 
  • Team closely with West Monroe Marketing to develop new client case studies/project summaries and execute business development campaigns 
  • Monitor the Fintech landscape for industry consulting and partnership opportunities 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience required. 
  • 10-15+ years' experience working in the Banking Industry either selling project-based consulting services, software/technology, outsourcing or similar technical services 
  • Cultivate new and existing client business development opportunities for the Banking and Financial Services practice, with an annual consulting revenue target minimum of $2 Million 
  • Able to work independently and as a team player in coordinating and driving sales processes 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
  • Aggressive self-starter with strong interpersonal skills 
  • Effective time management and organization skills 
  • Membership and participation in business community associations 
  • A commitment to inclusion and diversity, and openness to new ideas and perspectives 
  • Ability to travel on short notice
