Job Summary:

The VP Commercial Credit Administration Manager is responsible for mentoring and supporting team members and for ensuring that effective underwriting and risk assessment outcomes are achieved. In conformance with the established policies and procedures performs credit analysis for new loan requests and oversees and administers existing portfolio including, but not limited to, preparation of annual reviews and loan modifications, as well as tracking financial information, and managing credit administration reports to enhance the overall risk management of the commercial loan portfolio. Works with credit team and commercial lending team to help and identify and resolve complex credit issues. Approves commercial loans up to $500,000 in TCC independently. Provides support to help ensure a satisfactory external loan review. Maintains and updates the Commercial Loan Policy and BHG Policy.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $165,000 per year, based on experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial statements, management profiles, business/product cycles, historical operating performance and cash flow ability to develop an assessment of credit risk.
  • Provide supervision to all analysts supporting them with their professional development.
  • Work directly with analysts to enhance their credit analysis skills and writing, resulting in the performance of comprehensive, in-depth and meaningful credit analysis on loan transactions with moderate complications, independently and with minimal supervision from the Credit Manager.
  • Make constructive comments and recommendations on loan terms and structures to minimize credit risks and protect the Bank’s capital.
  • Understands the balance between credit and lending, and that there are many factors to be considered in the underwriting process. Works collaboratively with the analysts and lenders to reach thoughtful recommendations that have been thoroughly reviewed and are in compliance with regulatory and Bank standards.
  • Effectively and independently, complete key credit underwriting for Mid-Size to large Commercial Loan requests in a timely fashion, including but not limited to Commercial Mortgages, Commercial and Industrial as well Working Capital Revolving Credit Loans and commercial construction loans.
  • Prepare and review in depth written analyses for relationships of various size and complexity, ensuring that the completed product is in compliance with laws, regulations and guidelines, as well as policies specific to the bank.
  • Perform analysis and research required for the annual review of all Borrower relationships as well as the annual review-renewal of all Working Capital Revolving Lines of Credit, and renewal of maturing loans.
  • Interact with customers, Bank officers and Loan Operations to respond to inquiries, questions, problems, and other credit issues on a timely basis.
  • Perform in-depth appraisal reviews to ensure all appraisals the Bank uses are in compliance with all related appraisal regulations and the Bank’s internal Appraisal policy.
  • Provides various reports on a routine basis and as needed to effectively manage the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Prepares periodic analysis of industries for which the commercial loan portfolio has credit concentration to improve the Bank’s underwriting of credits, particularly in new industries; monitors industry trends which affect the existing portfolio.
  • Oversees input, maintenance and distribution of credit administration related to the Finastra/Credit Quest and Abrigo Construct systems.
  • Manage the Bank’s BHG Loan Purchase Program.
  • Acts as subject matter expert on regulatory requirements relating to the safety and soundness, and compliance regulations, of commercial lending. Shares knowledge and provides guidance to team members as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with all related Bank policies, Bank Secrecy Act, Confidentiality, standardized procedures and regulations.
  • Ongoing training to further overall banking background.
  • Represent the Bank in the community and at business and professional association functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
