As a Branch Operations Manager, you'll play a critical leadership role in ensuring the branch runs efficiently, compliantly, and with a consistent focus on customer service.

You'll lead daily branch operations, coach frontline employees, oversee risk and compliance processes, and help drive the growth and success of your branch within the community.

What You'll Do

Lead Branch Operations

  • Oversee all daily branch operational activities and employee workflows
  • Manage cash operations, including vault management, cash recyclers, ATM balancing, and teller cash limits
  • Ensure accurate branch balancing and reconciliation processes
  • Review operational reports and oversee branch self-audits
  • Support branch opening and closing procedures, including Saturday operations when applicable
  • Maintain branch facilities, security standards, and overall operational readiness

Ensure Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain strong internal controls and operational safeguards
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Foster an audit-ready culture with a focus on risk management and accountability
  • Oversee dual-control procedures and cash-handling standards across the branch

Develop & Lead Your Team

  • Supervise, coach, and develop tellers, head tellers, and universal bankers
  • Provide real-time guidance, training, and performance feedback
  • Conduct team meetings and coaching sessions to reinforce service, compliance, and operational expectations
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure consistent coverage
  • Build a positive, accountable culture aligned with the bank's core values

Strengthen Customer Relationships

  • Model exceptional customer service and relationship-building behaviors
  • Assist customers with banking products, services, and account needs
  • Resolve complex customer concerns while maintaining trust and satisfaction
  • Coach employees on delivering needs-based conversations through the SBSU VALUE Blueprint
  • Encourage meaningful customer interactions that deepen relationships and improve engagement

Drive Customer Growth & Engagement

  • Lead adoption of SBSU's relationship-building programs, including the VALUE Blueprint and 2-2-2 Follow-Up Program
  • Ensure effective use of CRM tools to document customer interactions and identify opportunities
  • Analyze customer and branch performance trends to support relationship growth and retention
  • Promote customer outreach, referrals, and community engagement efforts

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive branch banking or branch operations experience
  • Experience as a Teller, Head Teller, Universal Banker, New Accounts Representative, or similar role
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Ability to successfully pass a credit and background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience leading branch operations or supervisory teams within a financial institution
  • Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager, Operations Officer, or similar role
