Job description

We are seeking aControllerto serve as a financial anchor. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for turning complex job activity into clean, reliable financial data. You will lead the accounting team and ensure financial systems-specificallySage 300-reflect reality.Key Responsibilities
  • System Integrity:Own the accuracy of Sage 300, WIP, and job cost reports; identify and correct errors in AP, AR, and payroll.

  • Cash Flow Management:Monitor balances, advise ownership on risks/lines of credit, and ensure all obligations are met without surprises.

  • Compliance & Risk:Manage tax filings, bank covenants, and lender audits. Review contracts for risk and strictly control lien waiver issuance.

  • Team Leadership:Provide direction and accountability for AP, AR, Billing, and Payroll. Conduct regular performance reviews and process coaching.

  • Executive Reporting:Produce monthly financial packages and maintain an executive dashboard to guide ownership in decision-making.

Qualifications
  • Experience:Significant experience in construction or project-based accounting at a Controller or Senior Manager level.

  • Technical Mastery:Deep knowledge ofSage 300 CRE, job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion concepts.

  • Financial Oversight:Strong understanding of cash flow, bank covenants, and tax compliance.

  • Contract Literacy:Ability to interpret contract/waiver language and explain financial risks.

  • Leadership:Proven ability to hold staff to high standards while maintaining a culture of trust.
