Senior Rubrik Backup & Recovery Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Rubrik Backup & Recovery Engineer to support enterprise backup, recovery, and data protection services. The role involves implementing, administering, monitoring, and maintaining Rubrik backup solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain the Rubrik backup environment.

Configure backup policies, retention schedules, and recovery requirements.

Monitor backup jobs, system health, storage capacity, and platform performance.

Perform backup restoration, recovery testing, and troubleshooting activities.

Support Rubrik software upgrades, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation.

Implement and onboard new servers, applications, databases, and cloud workloads into the backup platform.

Support migration of workloads from existing backup solutions to Rubrik.

Work with infrastructure, storage, cloud, security, and application teams during project delivery.

Investigate and resolve backup-related incidents and operational issues.

Support disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.

Documentation, Knowledge Transfer & Handover

Create and maintain solution design documents, SOPs, runbooks, and support documentation.

Document backup architecture, policies, retention requirements, and recovery procedures.

Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for operations and support teams.

Support Transition to Operations (TTO) activities and operational readiness reviews.

Provide post-implementation support and ensure successful handover of services to Operations.

Ensure all project deliverables, documentation, and support processes are completed before project closure.

Required Skills

Mandatory

7+ years of Backup & Recovery Administration experience.

Hands-on experience with Rubrik Backup & Recovery solutions.

Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.

Experience with Windows, Linux, VMware, and enterprise infrastructure environments.

Experience implementing and supporting enterprise backup solutions.

Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred

Experience with Rubrik Cloud Vault.

Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud environments.

ITIL Foundation Certification.

Rubrik certification or equivalent backup technology certification.
