Cloud Operations and Customer Support Engineer, Jr.

Location: Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO

Position Summary

As part of the Continuous Operations Release Environment (CORE) team, the Junior Cloud Operations and Customer Support Engineer delivers reliable, cost-effective AWS cloud solutions to enterprise clients. This role balances hands‑on infrastructure maintenance and real‑time application monitoring with high‑touch technical customer support in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure Maintenance: Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud environments to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Technical Customer Support: Provide tier‑level technical support, troubleshoot customer issues, and deliver responsive service for cloud users.
  • Application & System Monitoring: Track application performance and supporting infrastructure metrics to rapidly identify, report, and resolve availability or scaling bottlenecks.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, DevOps, and delivery teams to assist clients with enterprise application consumption in the cloud.
Required Qualifications
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of IT experience centered on AWS cloud operations, Linux administration, and technical support.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Cloud & Linux: Hands‑on proficiency with AWS services and enterprise Linux distributions (RedHat, CentOS).
  • DevOps & Agile: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows and CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Nexus).
  • Troubleshooting & Communication: Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical details to clients and team members clearly.
