THE RUNDOWN 

Playfly Ticketing & Hospitality is looking for a Director, Sales and Service to join our team at Miami University.

Playfly Sports and Miami University Athletics seek a positive and passionate individual who is committed to leading a best-in-class ticket sales and ticket service team. This position requires someone who is highly motivated to contribute to the overall sales, service, and fundraising efforts, passionate about staff leadership and development, and committed to preserving a culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees.  This position will manage the day-to-day sales for five ticketed sports (football, volleyball, hockey, men's basketball, women's basketball).

Position will oversee the long and short-term goals and objectives and strategies for season ticket sales; suite/hospitality sales; group sales and ticket operations. They will work closely with the units of Athletic Communications and Marketing, and the Miami Athletic Fund.

This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

Inventory available for sale may include new season tickets, renewal season tickets, premium tickets and suites, win-back season tickets, donations attached to season tickets, group tickets, mini plans and individual game tickets as assigned and directed by the University.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH  

  • Work closely with Associate AD of Revenue Generation. Serve as part of external relations team
  • Market, sell and service tickets for the standard and premium areas at Miami's home athletic venues for all home games including selling, as applicable, new and renewal season tickets, premium seating, partial season ticket plans, group ticket plans and individual game tickets
  • Servicing the inbound ticket sales phone line, in an effort to "upsell" conventional fans into packages that either: A) Increase their level of spend, and/or B) Increase their level of avidity for the University
  • Assist in the growth of new Athletics' donors
  • Develop a Ticket Marketing, Sales, and Service Plan primarily focused on monetizing the opportunities for ticketing areas
  • Work in conjunction with the University to collaborate, and subsequently execute, on the promotion and intelligent marketing of all ticketed products. Advise on annual sales calendar and ticket pricing. Adjust timing and release of tickets and other sales products
  • Conduct daily sales and relationship cultivation phone calls, messages (electronic, mailings, etc.) with season ticket holders, sponsors, businesses, individuals, groups and prospective buyers
  • Oversee all facets of daily sales while ensuring compliance with the University, Conference, NCAA rules and regulations, as well as state, federal laws, policies, and regulations
  • Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly sales figures and relevant accountability reports. Handle accounting, partner invoicing, commission reporting, staff timecard/payroll approval etc.
  • Act as the principal liaison of Playfly Sports with the Athletic Department/External Units
  • Develop and execute approved Annual Business, Sales Plan and Operating Budget
  • Run day-to-day operations of the Fan Relationship Management Center profitably while exceeding client expectations in revenue generation and customer service

WHAT YOU'LL BRING 

  • Minimum of 3+ years of sports ticket sales experience and ticketing leadership experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
  • Experience with ticketing software (Paciolan) and CRM programs (Salesforce) preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation and listening skills. Must be able to communicate equally well with executives, staff, and fans at all levels
  • Strong organizational, administrative and time management skills
  • Proven problem-solving ability
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)

TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   

  • Available to work athletic events including home games and special events in evenings and on weekends as needed
  • The work is sedentary in nature
  • Walking, standing, bending and carrying of light office items is required
  • The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office environment
  • May require occasional travel
