Responsibilities

The Early Learning Center at the Caylor Nickel Fdn. Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Lead Teacher to join our team with responsibilities of maintaining positive communication, working cooperatively with ELC staff, promoting programs, and ensuring the implementation of the ELC program.

• Connect: Communicate effectively with parents, participants, and staff.

• Serve: Provide childcare support for the ELC program director and staff.

• Lead: Create a safe and enriching classroom where children can participate in fun activities while learning.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:


Must be at least 18 years of age; prefer an Associates’/Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field. Equivalent experience working with school-aged children is also accepted.

Must have reliable transportation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Full Time $15.25-15.75 hourly

Hours Available: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00 pm
