Avidity is actively hiring a Youth Behavior Response Specialist to support youth through hands-on behavioral interventions, skill-building, and positive behavior support. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in behavioral health, youth services, RBT-adjacent roles, mental health support, or direct care who are passionate about making a meaningful impact.

Position Overview

As a Youth Behavior Response Specialist, you will serve as a key member of the Behavior Response Team, providing direct behavioral support to youth while helping maintain safe, structured, and therapeutic environments. You will implement behavior plans, support skill acquisition, and collaborate with caregivers and professionals to promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Behavior Response Team Lead supporting youth during behavioral challenges

  • Assist with skill acquisition for clients and staff using approved strategies and techniques (WELLE-based)

  • Implement behavior reduction protocols to address challenging behaviors and encourage appropriate alternatives

  • Provide direct intervention support to youth

  • Build strong, positive relationships with clients and families

  • Collaborate with caregivers, clinicians, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive environment

  • Follow all ethical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and agency policies

  • Participate in required training and ongoing professional development

  • Coach with daily activities

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth in behavioral health, mental health, education, or human services

  • Knowledge of trauma informed care and pain-based behavior

  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
