The Aircraft Logs & Records Technician provides critical maintenance administration and aviation logbook support to VMMT-204, the Department of Defenseโs largest and only training squadron for MV-22 Osprey pilots and aircrew. This role directly supports a single point of failure mission responsible for pilot production across the USMC, USAF, USN, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) partners, including the Japanese Defense Force. This position ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of aircraft maintenance documentation in accordance with NAMP 4790 series, SECNAV instructions, and command maintenance policies, supporting 22โ24 MV-22 aircraft operating in a high-tempo, 24-hour maintenance environment. Key Responsibilities
Aircraft Logs & Records / Material Control
โข Execute daily Material Control Program requirements in accordance with NAMP 4790 (series)
โข Maintain complete and accurate aircraft and engine logbooks, records, and associated maintenance documentation
โข Perform all data entry, retrieval, validation, and correction functions related to aviation maintenance records
โข Analyze and correct discrepancies caused by software, hardware, or data entry errors
โข Transmit and receive maintenance data via approved electronic means in support of deployments and detachments
โข Extract, analyze, and interpret maintenance data to generate management and readiness reports Maintenance Administration Support
โข Provide clerical and administrative support to the Maintenance Department
โข Prepare maintenance-related correspondence, reports, and administrative documentation
โข Maintain, distribute, retain, and dispose of maintenance correspondence and records in compliance with SECNAV directives
โข Manage a centralized maintenance reporting and recordkeeping system, including tickler files to ensure timely submission of recurring reports
โข Create and maintain archives, backups, and data saves in support of operational continuity Systems & Data Management
โข Perform database and basic systems analysis related to aircraft maintenance records
โข Support networking functions between maintenance and administrative systems
โข Ensure data integrity and continuity across maintenance tracking platforms Required Qualifications
โข Active Secret Security Clearance
โข Demonstrated experience with aircraft maintenance logs and records in a military or DoD contractor environment
โข Working knowledge of NAMP 4790 series maintenance documentation requirements
โข Proficiency in aviation maintenance data systems and electronic recordkeeping
โข Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of time-sensitive documentation
โข Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical maintenance environment Preferred Qualifications
โข Prior experience supporting MV-22, CMV-22B, or tiltrotor aircraft
โข Previous assignment within a USMC, Navy, or DoD aviation maintenance organization
โข Experience supporting training squadrons or FMS aviation programs
