Job Description:

The Aviation Accounting Manager will be a critical business partner to the aviation teams and be responsible for overseeing key accounting processes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in U.S., and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, efficiency, and business support. The ideal candidate will operate independently, solve complex problems, and drive process improvements while fostering a culture of accountability and financial discipline.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Prepare, review and record monthly, quarterly, and year-end accruals to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Perform account reconciliations across multiple software programs to general ledger data and spare parts inventory records.
  • Track, reconcile and report maintenance inventory and part consumption.
  • Ensure the accuracy of general ledger by reviewing accounts, reconciling discrepancies, preparing necessary adjustments and booking entries to ensure completeness.
  • Reconcile, and prepare entries for prepaid expenses, amortization schedules, fixed assets and other accounts.
  • Identify and report expense data to capitalize assets as it relates to aviation expenses.
  • Collaborate and assist in the month, quarter and year-end closing process, ensuring the accuracy of financial system entries and adjustments while meeting strict financial deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Review financial data and reports to prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for internal and external audit requirements.
  • Prepare results summary and fluctuation and trends analyses to relevant management teams.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Support tax filings, regulatory reporting requirements and other projects as needed.
  • Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as assigned/required.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have management responsibilities.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • 5+ years of experience accounting experience, with a strong background in accrual accounting, reconciliations, and general ledger audits
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX 404 requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a healthcare, life sciences, or aviation industry.
  • Ability to travel between Bozeman, MT, Andover, MA and Dallas, TX as needed to facilitate month-end close and other projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
