Overview
Solairus Aviation is currently searching for a Full-Time Client Aviation Manager (CAM) to lead a dynamic flight department consisting of a Gulfstream 650 and Global 7500. The ideal candidate will need to be a team player while seeking excellence in every aspect of their performance. The Client Aviation Manager (CAM) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional management of a privately owned aircraft operation under Solairus Aviation management. This remote leadership role serves as the primary point of contact for the aircraft owner and oversees all aspects of flight department administration, personnel management, regulatory compliance, budget oversight, maintenance coordination, and strategic planning.
Working closely with Solairus Aviation and the flight department team, the CAM ensures seamless coordination among pilots, cabin crew, maintenance personnel, vendors, and company stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of safety, service, discretion, and operational excellence expected by our clients.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and manage the flight department team, including pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance personnel.
  • Build strong relationships among all team members to foster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing culture.
  • Communicate expectations, performance standards, operational updates, and client preferences to all crew members.
  • Support the professional growth and development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, operational reviews, and training coordination activities to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and administer annual performance reviews.

Client & Organizational Relations
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the aircraft owner and the flight department, ensuring alignment with owner preferences, expectations, and operational objectives.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with Solairus' key internal partners, including the Client Responsible Officer (CRO), Client Services Director (CSD), Flight Coordinator (FC), Client Accounting Department (CAD), and other operational teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Flight Operations, Maintenance Operations, Safety, and other Solairus departments to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Submit monthly CAM reports to the CRO and CSD detailing flight activity, crew performance, maintenance status, financial updates, and operational matters.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with Solairus Aviation regarding operational issues, owner requests, and department initiatives.

Operations & Safety Oversight
  • Oversee flight scheduling, trip planning processes, and operational logistics to ensure efficiency, compliance, and outstanding client service.
  • Ensure all flight department activities comply with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor operational readiness, crew qualifications, training status, and required documentation.
  • Promote and support Solairus' Safety Management System (SMS) by ensuring active participation and adherence throughout the department.
  • Facilitate safety reporting, risk assessments, and corrective action initiatives.

Financial & Administrative Management
  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget, including maintenance, training, travel, fuel, subscriptions, and crew-related expenses.
  • Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Review invoices, expense reports, and accounting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with contract management and vendor negotiations as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; aviation management, business administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex operational environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to effectively manage conflict and competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, Part 91 operations, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and business aviation best practices.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and expense management.
  • Proficiency with aviation scheduling, maintenance tracking, and operational management systems preferred.
  • Discreet, professional, and service-oriented with a commitment to excellence.

Solairus collects salary range information based on market conditions from multiple industry sources. Solairus crewmembers are paid $50,000 to $500,000 based on geographic area, experience, equipment type/aircraft, job duties, training, and the assigned account.
