What is Automotive Fixed Operations Consulting?

Automotive Fixed Operations Consulting refers to professional advisory services that help dealerships and service centers improve the efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction of their fixed operations departments. Fixed operations include all the non-vehicle sales aspects of a dealership, such as parts, service, and collision repair. Consultants in this field analyze current processes, implement best practices, and provide training to enhance productivity and revenue. They may also help with technology adoption, workflow optimization, and customer experience improvements. The ultimate goal is to maximize the performance and profitability of the dealership’s after-sales operations.

What are some typical challenges faced by Automotive Fixed Operations Consultants when working with dealerships, and how can these be effectively addressed?

Automotive Fixed Operations Consultants often encounter challenges such as resistance to process changes, varying levels of staff experience, and inconsistent performance metrics across departments. Successfully addressing these issues involves building trust with dealership teams, providing tailored training, and implementing clear, data-driven strategies for improvement. Consultants typically work closely with service managers, parts managers, and technicians to foster collaboration and ensure alignment with best practices, ultimately driving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Are You Addicted to Fixing Broken Dealerships?

Coach / Fixed Operations Specialist – Automotive & Commercial Truck

Do you know how to walk into a dealership, spot the dysfunction, fix the problems, and turn fixed operations into a profit machine?

We are looking for a proven Coach / Fixed Operations Specialist who thrives on building accountability, improving execution, increasing profitability, and helping dealerships perform at a higher level. This role is for someone who understands the real-world demands of automotive and/or commercial truck fixed operations and knows how to create results in service, parts, and leadership performance.

If you have ever said:

  • “This dealership could be so much better”

  • “They are managing symptoms instead of the real problem”

  • “No one is driving accountability”

  • “There is too much profit being left on the table”

…then this role may be built for you.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Implementing a system/process in a dealership’s fixed operations, and driving performance and removing the true barriers to profitability

  • Coaching leaders in service, parts, and fixed ops on execution, accountability, and process discipline

  • Improving labor sales, gross profit, technician productivity, efficiency, staffing effectiveness, and customer retention

  • Helping dealerships eliminate drift, strengthen culture, and operate with greater consistency

  • Turning under-performing departments into more profitable, scale-able, and customer-focused operations

  • Serving as a trusted partner who can challenge leadership and help drive meaningful change

What We Need
  • Strong dealership fixed operations experience in automotive and/or commercial truck

  • Background as a Service Manager, Fixed Ops Director, Parts Manager, GM, Dealer Operator, or high-level consultant/coach

  • A track record of improving performance, profitability, and accountability

  • The ability to diagnose root causes, not just react to surface problems

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, influence, and challenge others

  • Willingness to travel and work directly with dealership teams onsite

Who You Are

You are not afraid of hard truths.
You know what great looks like.
You can identify gaps quickly.
You know how to get a team aligned, focused, and moving.
You care about customer experience, but you also understand that strong process and accountability are what drive sustainable profit.

This is not a sit-back-and-observe type of role.
This is for someone who wants to help fix dealerships and make them measurably better.

If you know how to improve fixed operations and create profit, we want to talk to you.

If you’re tired of the grind and ready to coach the next generation of parts and service leaders, apply today. Be part of something bigger—the Service Drive Revolution.
