Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


Wake Preparatory Academy is now accepting applications for an Attendance Clerk for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

โ€ข Record and track student attendance on a daily basis, including absences, tardies, and early dismissals.

โ€ข Update and maintain accurate attendance records in the schoolโ€™s attendance system or database.

โ€ข Process and verify absence reports, including parental notes, medical documentation, and other excusal requests.

โ€ข Follow up with parents or guardians regarding unreported absences and verify the validity of absences as needed.

โ€ข Serve as the primary contact for students, parents, and staff regarding attendance-related inquiries and concerns.

โ€ข Communicate with parents to confirm absences, provide attendance updates, and address any issues related to attendance.

โ€ข Maintain accurate and confidential attendance data, including entering and updating information in student information systems.

โ€ข File and maintain attendance records, including absentee notes, medical documentation, and communication logs.

โ€ข Provide information and guidance to students and parents about attendance policies and procedures.

โ€ข Provide general administrative to the school office, including handling phone calls, emails, and correspondence related to attendance.

โ€ข Other duties as assigned.
