Job description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for testing, building and service of mechanical clutches for Formsprag Clutch. Responsibilities will include Product Assembly, Internal Project control, Conducting Inspection Tests, Service Calls, Product Assembly, Shop floor assistance, Product Testing, MRR processing and Work on Product Changes (PI, ECR). The main emphasis is on testing products (both for R&D and Factory release) and providing service on customer sites. The Test and Service Engineer is also required to work closely with the rest of the engineering team, rebuild team and manufacturing engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and Execute testing of products resources to support development efforts and supplemental production QA
  • Design testing fixtures for testing
  • Coordinate with the required resources and flow of internal rebuild department
  • Travel to customer sites to support service efforts
  • Communicate customer needs back to design team after site visits
  • Interface with customers to understand site issues and coordinate communications and service to help resolve issues
  • Assist with development of various overrunning clutch products
  • Plan for data analysis of monitored customer data
  • Assist production departments with communication of design issues back to design and SAP team
  • Assist production in tool ordering as needed, and assembly techniques updating documentation when lacking
  • Complete quality documents for assembly and test processes
  • Maintain assembly tracking database to allow for component traceability on various products
  • Assist procurement with questions from vendors on purchased parts
  • Assist with redesign efforts of components to make them more manufacturable
  • Enter SAP Service orders for parts and routing

Education Requirements

  • Minimum Associates Degree in a technical field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience running mechanical test equipment or other means of product performance evaluations
  • Familiarity with condition monitoring and testing.
  • Ability to plan and analyze data.
  • Workshop or laboratory experience.
