Job description

Roles Overview
The Test Engineer is responsible for the setup, execution, and reporting of vehicle and component tests using chassis dynamometers. The engineer will follow standardized procedures to collect high-quality data that meets internal and customer specifications. This role requires strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. 
Test Operations: 
  • Execute dynamometer tests in accordance with established test procedures and schedules
  • Monitor test execution to ensure compliance with test parameters and safety protocols 
  • Interpret customer test requests and develop detailed test procedures, schedules, and data collection strategies. 
  • Interface directly with clients to define requirements, present results, and manage expectations throughout test programs. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test setup, data acquisition, and control systems. 
  • Champion process and innovation in support of improved testing methods and protocols. 

Data Handling: 
  • Ensure proper data collection, storage, and preliminary validation 
  • Support data review and assist with report preparation 

Compliance, Quality and Safety: 
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including safety and quality standards. 
  • Establish and enforce compliance with quality standards to achieve the highest levels of customer / client satisfaction. 
  • Adhere to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions. 
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related discipline 
  • Dynamometer or automotive test engineering experience preferred 
  • Familiarity with industry testing standards (CFR 1066, SAE J1634, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in data acquisition software and basic instrumentation 
  • Understanding of control systems, PID tuning, and PLCs 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity. 
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to issue resolution. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets and Databases.
