Associate Software Engineer

The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join the Government Vehicle Health Maintenance team located in Hazelwood, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization.

In the Government Vehicle Health Maintenance Systems organization, our team of engineers develops, fields, and supports platform health management systems for the F/A-18, MQ-25, F-15, T-38, T-7, and proprietary platforms. Our software acquires and manages platform health and usage data, performs health and usage assessments, and recommends maintenance actions. We create and sustain products and solutions that maximize platform mission readiness and effectiveness, reduce lifecycle costs, and keep our customers safe.

Successful candidates will assist in design, implement, and sustain software across all phases of the software development lifecycle to support platform health management systems. In this role, the engineer will develop applications within a CI/CD software build pipeline and work in an Agile team to acquire and manage platform health and usage data, perform automated assessments, and produce actionable maintenance recommendations that enhance readiness, reduce lifecycle cost, and promote customer safety.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partners with software and systems engineering teams design, develop, troubleshoot, and test non-embedded software throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards

  • Assists in the development, documentation, and maintenance of software requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs

  • Supports debugging efforts and helps lead resolution of issues identified to improve the reliability and efficiency of software products

  • Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues, and analyzes user feedback to support product improvements

  • Assists in researching and implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software development

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to workonsiteat one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor Degree

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

  • 2+ years experience as a software developer

  • 2+ years of experience in programming in C, C#, C++, Java, Python or Visual Basic

  • 2+ years of hands on experience with Source Control Management tools (like Git)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 2: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience

  • 2+ years of experience developing software using Docker or Kubernetes for container based applications

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, along with experience working in a team environment

  • 1+ year of experience working with any relational or non-relational databases.

  • 2+ experience of Win-forms ,WPF, Blazer, or other Windows/Web development technologies

  • Knowledge of specification formats, requirements guidelines, and change control processes, including the relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems

  • Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems, and networks, with the ability to build, integrate, and troubleshoot software components

  • Knowledge of requirements derivation and allocation across system, subsystem, and software levels, including traceability throughout the product lifecycle
