Description and Requirements
About the Role:
The EB Senior Account Manager manages complex employee benefit accounts and serves as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, providing consultative guidance and overseeing service delivery.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage a complex book of business with multiple funding arrangements and higher levels of plan customization.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and insurance carriers, providing proactive, personalized client support.
  • Lead client renewals, including analysis of utilization results and negotiation with carriers on behalf of clients.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in employee benefits and act as a resource to the Account Management team.
  • Educate and advise clients on employee benefits compliance matters, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500 reporting, and Health Care Reform.
  • Lead and attend client meetings, including on-site meetings, to present renewal outcomes, plan recommendations, and benefit administration guidance.
  • Coordinate and engage technical resources to support complex client needs.
  • Develop employee communications for renewals, enrollment, and benefit changes and provide oversight and resolution support for client issues such as contract interpretation and billing.
  • Participate in peer review of standard client deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Develop and deliver training content for the Account Management team. Stay current on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging employee benefits trends.

What We're Looking For:
  • 4+ years of experience in employee benefits or a related marketplace.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong, practical understanding of employee benefit plan design, funding arrangements, and compliance requirements.
  • Active Life and Disability insurance license or ability to obtain one within 4 months of employment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
  • Ability to thoughtfully review complex information, exercise sound professional judgement, and develop client-focused solutions.
  • Ability to balance multiple demands and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to self-review work for accuracy.
