Job Description
Position Title: Associate Project Manager
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Associate Project Manager opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Manager in the management of project cost, schedule, and scope execution using project management best practices and principles, ensuring adherence to plan and addressing deviations.
  • Represent the PM to drive and hold project teams accountable for achieving project deliverables and staying within budget while still meeting scope and technical performance requirements.
  • Assist the PM to ensure the technical adequacy and quality of work products to validate scope completion.
  • As directed by the PM, drive the planning process for the work scope within the control accounts. Work with the relevant engineering leads to obtain the necessary planning inputs. Represent the PM as a point of contact for interfacing with project controls in the implementation of plans in the integrated master control schedule (IMCS).
  • Develop, propose, and maintain staffing/resource plans to accomplish the work and adjust the schedule to be resource leveled.
  • Assist the PM in monitoring and analyzing cost and schedule variances using the earned value (EV) data recorded compared to the time-phased budget. Assist in the determination of the root causes and develop corrective actions / recovery plans / variance management plans as necessary to avoid large variances.
  • Ensure that records on the project are stored in accordance with corporate procedures.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the project risk register, monitoring and reporting on actions taken to reduce project risk.
  • Work closely with Project Management Office (PMO) support, to ensure that work performed follows the PMO requirements.

Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to Project Management or Project Delivery, with demonstrated experience on large projects.
  • B.S. or higher in a relevant discipline from an accredited university and 4+ years direct experience with proven project coordination skills. Additional consideration for engineering and nuclear degrees/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with highly multidisciplinary and matrixed teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects executed under a high degree of regulatory oversight, with a preference for experience building Nuclear Power Plants.
  • PMP certification strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in project planning, implementation and delivering results.
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling and budget control, EVMS tools and project control requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and JIRA a bonus.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to understand complex technical concepts is highly desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
  • Travel Required: 0-5%.
