Description
  • The HR Specialist will serve as the administrator of all leave of absences and medical-only Workers' Compensation claims for all companies. This individual will be the main point of contact for associates in these areas and support leadership, HR Business Partners, and others with related inquiries. Additionally, this role will support the payroll and benefits team by learning and assisting with different areas of benefits administration and payroll as needed. This position reports to the HR Manager and is a member of the HR team.
    Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
    • Gathers and processes FMLA, Personal Leave of Absence, and all other leave notices and requests in a timely basis in accordance with Federal and state laws.
    • Monitors leaves to assure that they are taken within Company and Legal guidelines.
    • Prepares reports and tracks leaves in HRIS system.
    • Maintains well documented and accurate case files and organizes them accordingly; updates as needed.
    • Keeps Management informed regarding any ongoing or outstanding leave and ADA issues that may adversely affect the Company.
    • Stays abreast of State and Federal leave requirements and ensures company compliance with the provisions of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Department of Labor (DOL) Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act (USERRA). Executes special projects as assigned by leadership.
    • Administer Medical only Worker's Compensation claims
    • Assist with Time Loss Worker's Compensation claims, as needed.
    • Learn benefits, unemployment and payroll administration, to act as a backup if needed.
    • Other duties and projects and duties as assigned

    Job Requirements:
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
    • Ability to rely on critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Technologically savvy and proficient, able to quickly learn, administer, and become the subject matter expert with our HR systems including UKG
    • Resourceful problem solver that uses sound judgment to determine priorities in a quickly

    changing environment.
    • Results-oriented, self-starter, who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.
    • Team player with the ability to successfully partner with various HR team members on projects.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with discretion and professionalism.
    • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as HRIS programs. Experience with UKG is preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's in Business, Human Resources, or like degree program preferred.
