Responsibilities
The Sales Associate / Estimator role is a sales role. Your main responsibilities include doing in-home estimates with residential customers who have requested home repair or remodeling services, evaluating the project, estimating the cost of services for the customer using Coastal Concept's estimating software and selling the service to the customer.
  • The Sales Associate / Estimator will meet with customers, take pictures, diagram the work, and write a proposal (complete with pricing) for the project.
  • The Sales Associate / Estimator will present proposals to the customers and schedule jobs through the office using Coastal Concept's software.
  • The Sales Associate / Estimator should agree to work one Saturday or Sunday for each trade show Coastal Concept's participates inusually 1 or 2 trade shows annually.
  • There will be a weekly meeting with Owner/General Manager to discuss sales quota requirements and determine whether or not quotas are being met. It is the Sales Associate / Estimator responsibility to have all required documentation prepared for the meeting.
  • Sales Associate / Estimator will be expected to maintain clean and well-groomed appearance. Nice jeans or slacks or shorts with button up or polo logoed shirts are acceptable attire for customer sales calls.
  • Sales Associate / Estimator is expected to pursue Commercial/Corporate Accounts on a regular basis. Any established accounts will apply toward the Sales Associate / Estimator weekly/monthly/annual quotas.
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should be able to build effective customer relationships
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should have clear and concise communication skills
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should have excellent listening skills
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should have experience using many software/ technology tools as they will need the ability to learn and use the Coastal Concept's recommended estimating software, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and basic business software (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) as well as proficient keyboard and data entry skills
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should be able to communicate effectively and assertively with craftsman
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should have the willingness to use and follow approved sales scripts to deliver the Coastal Concept's Brand Experience to customers and craftsman
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should have a high-level of detail-orientation & organization
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should be able to work in a fast-paced environment & multi-task well
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should have the willingness to make outbound sales orientated calls to customers
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should demonstrate self-motivation and initiative
  • Sales Associate / Estimator should have the ability and experience working by themselves in an autonomous environment

  • Required experience:
    • 2 years experience working in a construction related industry and working with craftsman
    • Experience making outbound sales calls to customers
    • Experience working with difficult customers and employees; handling complaints or conflicts with customers and employees
    • Knowledge of basic home repair/ remodeling
    • Knowledge and experience using a home remodeling software
    • Knowledge and experience doing in-home estimates with customers for a service
    • 5 years of experience in sales having goals and being held accountable to achieving those goals
    • Longevity working in a role for an extended period of time demonstrating loyalty to a company and the ability to maintain employment in one place for significant period of time
