The assistant estimator (AE) is responsible for assisting in the completion of requests for proposal, invitations to bid, and requests for qualification responses with the estimating, technical response, and executive management teams. The AE will be assigned to estimates and work under the supervisor and direction of an estimator. The daily work flow for the AE consists of subcontractor solicitation and constant collaboration and communication with the rest of the teams in order to meet preestablished deadlines.
Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge: Assistant Estimator
  • Building Connected Management
    • Creating new Invitations to Bid
    • Data base management
    • Creating templates and bid invitation lists
    • Soliciting subcontractors via phone calls and direct messaging
  • Submitting pre bid RFI, facility access documents, requesting bid bonds, and PPQ's as instructed
  • Attending Site Visits
  • Manage estimate file integrity
  • Support estimating team with their duties as needed

Skills, Qualifications, Experience: Assistant Estimator
  • Bachelor's Degree - engineering/construction management or related field preferred
  • Experience working directly with Federal Government or large institutions on construction contracts strongly preferred
  • Ability to assist with multiple estimates
  • Ability to assist multiple estimators
  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and estimating/database software
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective team player
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English
  • Superior written, oral and digital communication skills
  • Experience with email, internet, Microsoft Office products (including Excel and Word) and other estimating software (building connected)

Office Requirements
  • 40 hours a week: 2 weeks of initial training in the office
    • hybrid work schedule available after 90 day probationary period.
