Job description

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
MONTGOMERY, AL
We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead the daily operations of our client's Montgomery warehouse and e-commerce fulfillment business.

This is not a corporate desk job, but rather a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to manage people, processes, production, inventory, and shipping in a growing business. Ownership is transitioning to a more strategic role and needs a strong onsite leader to own daily execution, build structure, raise team performance, and help the business scale. The owner will remain closely involved in strategy, technology, channel decisions, and financial direction — but the Director of Operations will own the floor. The right person will bring order, consistency, and accountability to a fast-moving operation, and will work closely with ownership to operationalize new systems as they come online.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must live in Montgomery, Alabama, or be willing to relocate.
  • Proven positive experiences managing hourly employees.
  • Experience leading warehouse, fulfillment, logistics, production, or distribution operations.
  • Strong ability to hold people accountable and have direct conversations.
  • Comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial business where not every process is already built.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using software systems, reports, dashboards, and operational data — and open to learning new tools as they’re rolled out.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely use stools/ladders up to 8 ft when needed.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of operations leadership experience.
  • Experience managing supervisors or team leads.
  • Experience improving production flow, throughput, accuracy, or labor efficiency.
  • Experience with e-commerce, eBay operations, inventory systems, or shipping operations.
  • Comfortable working with a remote owner and a technology-forward operation.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $95,000–$110,000, depending on experience.
  • Performance bonus: up to $20,000+ based on operational KPIs and company performance.
  • Total compensation potential: $115,000–$130,000+ for the right candidate.

Benefits:

  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Health insurance (50% paid by company)
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Performance bonus opportunity
  • Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate
