Summary of the role

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.

We are seeking a Director of Operations to join the Nordson EFD team. In this role you will be responsible for setting the direction, leading, and managing Nordson EFD Operations to maximize profitability within the strategic guidelines of the business. You will also set the overarching operations strategy and define detailed plans to drive sustainable and profitable growth. This leader will develop the long-term strategic plan for Operations while building a strong team through the Nordson Strategic Plan. As a member of the EFD leadership team, you will drive excellence in all aspects of the business.

How YOU will make an impact:

  • Overall responsibility for the Global operations and procurement strategy as well as entire supply chain management. This position would be primarily located in our East Providence, RI facility.
  • Establish manufacturing objectives and assignments that align with EFD strategic and operating plans.
  • Responsible for the operations optimization with a focus on simplification
  • Deliver results and establish an operations management system to achieve operational excellence based on the overall EFD vision and strategy.
  • Optimize on-time delivery, reduce backlogs, and increase productivity.
  • Together with EFD Division Leadership, establish profitable growth and business targets and ensure they are achieved.
  • Continuous improvement to increase the profitability of the business.
  • Work closely with the leaders of Sales, Engineering, HR, and Marketing to drive continuous improvement and consolidation across the EFD Global business.
  • Promote internal exchange of best practices and establish advanced standards for our facilities.
  • Driving innovation in operations through the implementation of new technologies.
  • Coordinating global projects in the operations area

Qualifications To Be Successful:

  • 10+ years as an Operations leader. Injection molding strongly preferred.
  • Proven leader building a culture of safety, unleashing owner mindset to address observations with focus on prevention
  • Experience with multi-site global manufacturing & distribution (required)
  • Proven results in Operational Excellence, leading best-in-class quality, delivery, & lead time
  • Strong financial acumen; experience leading improvement optimizing conversion cost & inventory
  • Experience leading & developing a global supply chain team to optimize localization & cost
  • Strong customer passion
  • Proven track record of delivering on commitments
