The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00

The Associate Creative Director, Editorial Content & Social leads the creative development and execution of always-on editorial storytelling across Target's digital and social channels. Partnering closely with editorial marketing leadership, this role translates strategy into compelling creative work across photoshoots, collaborations, reclaimed style storytelling, and socially native content.
This leader guides creative teams and production partners through concept development, and content creation-ensuring the work reflects Target's brand voice and a high standard of creative excellence while resonating with culture and evolving social platforms.
The role plays a key part in delivering high-quality editorial content that drives discovery, collaboration storytelling, and brand affinity across digital experiences, with a focus on building culturally relevant, always-on content ecosystems that complement larger campaign moments. This role also plays a key role in identifying and translating emerging creative and social trends into actionable content ideas in partnership with marketing, strategy, and creative teams.
Lead the Creative Direction for Editorial Storytelling
Own the creative development of always-on editorial storytelling across photoshoots, collaborations, and social content-shaping concepts, visual direction, and creative execution that bring Target's brand voice to life across digital channels.
Direct Photoshoots and Content Production
Lead on-set creative direction and visual storytelling for editorial shoots, partnering with production teams, stylists, creators, and external collaborators to bring ideas to life.
Translate Strategy into Compelling Creative Work
Partner with editorial strategy leadership to turn high-level direction into clear creative concepts, storytelling frameworks, and engaging visual content.
Drive Collaboration and Partnership Storytelling
Develop and/or execute creative approaches for brand collaborations and partnerships, ensuring content captures cultural relevance while supporting broader marketing goals.
Identify and Activate Cultural & Social Trends
Proactively identify emerging creative, cultural, and social trends and translate them into relevant editorial storytelling and content opportunities. Partner across marketing, strategy, and creative teams to shape and execute ideas that keep Target's content timely, engaging, and culturally connected.
Champion Brand Expression Across Digital Channels
Ensure editorial content maintains a cohesive and recognizable creative point of view across digital and social platforms while adapting storytelling for platform-native engagement, in alignment with broader Brand Design standards and guidelines.
Mentor and Guide Creative Teams
Provide direction and feedback to art directors, designers, and writers while fostering strong collaboration and creative growth across the team.

About You
  • 8-10+ years of experience in creative direction, editorial storytelling, or integrated brand marketing within retail, lifestyle, or consumer brands

  • Strong conceptual and visual storytelling skills with a proven ability to develop compelling creative work across digital and social platforms
  • Strong instinct for cultural, social, and creative trends with the ability to translate insights into relevant content ideas and story-telling opportunities. Including a deep understanding of cultural trends, social storytelling, and evolving digital platforms

  • Experience leading photoshoots with strong on-set creative direction experience, including working with stylists, creators, talent, and external production partners

  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic direction into engaging creative concepts and high-quality execution

  • Strong understanding of cultural trends, social storytelling, and evolving digital platforms

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, and production teams

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to guide teams and articulate creative ideas clearly

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
