Ginosko Construction is a general contractor focused on multi-family residential developments within the affordable housing sector. We deliver comprehensive construction services that include new construction and preservation of projects. Our team is committed to quality, safety, on-time delivery, and cost control. We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations and ensure successful project execution.
Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing daily on-site construction activities, supervising crews and subcontractors, and ensuring projects meet schedule, quality, and safety standards. This role serves as the primary on-site leader and works closely with project managers, clients, inspectors, and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leads preconstruction process including scope development, bidding procurement, qualification and permitting
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations
  • Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure accurate execution
  • Maintain the project schedule and proactively address delays or conflicts
  • Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality standards are met
  • Monitors, corrects, and reports on quality control issues and defective or non-conforming work.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations
  • Track site progress, and communicate status updates to the project team, project owners, inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers and other stakeholders
  • Works with on-site staff to coordinate construction activities to minimize disruption to residents and business operations as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure job site
  • Resolve on-site issues quickly and professionally
  • Requires traveling to Ginosko office in Novi and assigned work site locations as needed. Some overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or project supervision in multi-family construction
  • Associate's degree or certificate in construction management, engineering or related field preferred, bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Journeyman licensure/ certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and sequencing
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and quality control practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with construction management software and basic computer applications
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
