Paradigm at Woodwind Lakes is seeking a dedicated Assistant Administrator to join our team! Must be licesned as an LNHA in Texas!
Summary / Objective
In keeping with our organization's goals, the Assistant Administrator supports the Administrator in the oversight of daily operations within the facility. This role assists in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing nursing facilities. Success in this position is measured by the ability to support regulatory compliance, contribute to positive patient outcomes, assist in financial performance goals, and help mitigate risk.
The Assistant Administrator collaborates with leadership to observe, identify, correct, maintain, and develop processes and programs that help achieve the organization's objectives while ensuring efficient and compliant facility operations.
Job Duties
  • Assist the Administrator in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing facility programs and activities in accordance with governing board guidelines
  • Support department directors in the development, implementation, and adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and professional standards of practice
  • Help ensure that employees, residents, visitors, and the public follow established facility policies and procedures
  • Participate in daily meetings with staff, assist with facility inspections, and help track survey findings and action plans
  • Support the development and follow-up of plans of correction for cited deficiencies, including monitoring timelines and outcomes
  • Assist in evaluating workforce competency and recommend adjustments or improvements as needed
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for department leaders, staff, and consultants
  • Provide support in employee relations matters, including coaching and disciplinary processes as directed
  • Collaborate with department directors to identify and resolve operational issues and improve service delivery
  • Assist in coordinating in-service training, orientation programs, and ongoing staff development initiatives
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and resident-centered environment throughout the facility
  • Help ensure provider compliance with facility policies related to credentialing, admissions, care planning, and treatment protocols
  • Communicate concerns and updates to the Administrator and assist in maintaining communication with the Medical Director
  • Reinforce adherence to safety regulations, including infection control, fire safety, and workplace safety standards
  • Assist in reviewing and investigating incidents/accidents and ensuring appropriate documentation and reporting
  • Support monitoring of the facility's risk management program and recommend improvements
  • Assist in ensuring the facility environment is clean, safe, and adequately supplied for resident care and comfort
  • Support review of financial reports and assist the Administrator in budget tracking, expense management, and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to achieving census, revenue, labor, and expense goals
  • Assist with implementation of processes to support financial and operational targets
  • Partner with A/R and business office functions to support timely and accurate collections
  • Report suspected compliance or legal concerns to the Administrator and assist with proper escalation procedures
  • Support the protection and promotion of resident rights, ensuring dignity, privacy, and quality of care at all times
  • Assist in addressing resident complaints and grievances, including documentation and follow-up actions
  • Help ensure proper handling and accounting of resident funds in compliance with regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility compliance and operational success
  • Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and leadership
  • Attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and in-service programs as required
  • Report concerns, incidents, or unsafe conditions promptly to appropriate personnel
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure all responsibilities are carried out in alignment with regulatory requirements and facility policies

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State
  • A bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration or health related degree is preferred
  • Recent long-term care experience required
  • Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must be able to read and interpret financial records, reports, and other financial models
  • Must effectively communicate policies, procedures, regulations, and reports to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies
  • Must demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and maintain a positive and professional attitude
  • Strong utilization knowledge of Point Click Care
