What You’ll Do:

As a Clerical - Transcriptionist, you will serve as a key support to healthcare providers by accurately transcribing and documenting patient encounters in real time. Your role involves ensuring that clinical documentation is precise, complete, and compliant with HIPAA and facility standards. You will prepare for patient visits by reviewing medical histories and relevant clinical information, help track pending tests and follow-ups, and manage various administrative tasks related to patient records. Your meticulous documentation will facilitate efficient patient flow, prompt provider decisions, and high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately transcribe patient visit details, including histories, physical exam findings, diagnoses, procedures, medications, lab and imaging orders, referrals, and follow-up plans into the electronic health record (EHR).

Review and update patient charts prior to visits, ensuring all relevant health information is current and organized.

Track outstanding tests, consults, and post-visit instructions, helping providers complete documentation promptly.

Manage clerical duties such as completing forms, routing messages, and assisting with documentation adjustments.

Maintain strict confidentiality of patient data and adhere to HIPAA regulations and facility policies.

Communicate professionally with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and patients as needed in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

High school diploma or GED; healthcare-related coursework or experience preferred.

Exceptional typing skills with the ability to learn EHR systems quickly.

Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical workflows.
