Job Description

As an Assistant Project Manager at Ganem Construction, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and ready to grow within a strong general contracting environment.


You will work closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to help keep projects moving forward, organized, and aligned with schedule, budget, quality, and company expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and administration.
  • Assist with project schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documents.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal team members.
  • Track project progress and help identify potential schedule, scope, or cost issues.
  • Assist with subcontractor buyout, bid review, and scope coordination.
  • Help prepare and maintain meeting minutes, project reports, logs, and documentation.
  • Support change order management, including gathering pricing, documentation, and approvals.
  • Assist with project billing, pay applications, cost tracking, and budget updates.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, design teams, trade partners, and field teams.
  • Work closely with Superintendents to support field coordination and issue resolution.
  • Help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Support project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, as-builts, and final documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and workflows.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination, assistant project management, project engineering, or a related role.
  • Commercial construction experience preferred.
  • General contractor experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and moving parts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional, team-oriented, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with office and field teams.
