Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dishes, glassware, flatware, and food preparation areas.  This position will also set the stage for the guest experience with a welcoming smile and service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

  • Assist in the kitchen with dishwashing to always ensure an adequate supply of dishes and utensils.
  • Complete all set-up duties on time.
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness and appearance of assigned areas and kitchen as required.
  • Load all plates, bowls, and glassware into proper areas.
  • Ensures all equipment is in working order and up to Hard Rock safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with Stewarding Supervisor and Executive Steward.
  • Perform work regularly and predictably.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
  • Breakdown, load, catch, and properly sort dishes, glassware, and flatware as it is brought to the dish area.
  • Wash, sort, and store clean pots in the proper location on shelves, large items on the bottom shelf
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all food service preparation areas, Stainless Steel, and Storage areas.
  • Unload clean dishes from the rack after being processed, inspect for cleanliness, and place in specified carts, shelves, and Kitchens.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of dish machines, hot/cold boxes, speed racks, carts, and ice machines in all outlets.
  • Cleaning, organization, and stocking of all stewarding storage areas.
  • Sweep and mop floors, baseboards, and drains throughout the assigned outlet.
  • Wash walls, drain, hand sink, table, and cutting board as needed.
  • Remove trash/cardboard transport and place in designated containers; clean and sanitize trash containers.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Dumpster area and wash bay facility.
  • Adhere to all Food & Beverage department rules and policies as set by the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations and sanitation guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to proper behavior that reinforces the company’s code of ethics, Integrity, teamwork
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Attend training when needed.
     

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of one-year progressive experience within the Stewards’ Department.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
     

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • All operations of the Stewards’ Department.
     

ABILITY TO:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Deliver programs which create a service level of excellence for internal and external guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Inspect and maintain all areas for which responsible.
  • Stock and retrieve supplies as needed.
  • Be respectful and accountable.
