Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Assistant electrical Project Manager/Engineer in Bloomington, IL. The Assistant Electrical Project Manager/Engineer will support the coordination and execution of complex commercial and mission-critical electrical projects. This role is designed for a motivated professional eager to advance into full project management while gaining hands-on exposure to design-build construction, project logistics, and electrical coordination.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $120,000 to $125,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers with project coordination, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Support the processing and tracking of RFIs, submittals, procurement, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate daily activities with field teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with project budgeting, financial tracking, and logistical planning.
  • Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, and Accubid/Trimble software for project management tasks.
  • Participate in project meetings and site-level coordination for mission-critical environments.
  • Support design-build efforts and project logistics throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and assist with change order management.

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably within electrical construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with mission-critical or complex commercial electrical projects.
  • Working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, and Accubid or Trimble software.
  • Strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn complex electrical systems.
  • Previous IBEW experience or internship experience with electrical contractors preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage diverse project stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated to develop into a full Project Management role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to operate a computer.
  • Ability to perform field inspections, including climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to walk across construction sites and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Potential exposure to construction site conditions, including heights and loud noises.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and bending during site visits.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on occasion.
