Job description

Job Type:RegularThe Project Manager - Maintenance participates in needs analysis, design, coordination and commissioning of CAPEX projects under $100,000 at the plant. He will act as site supervisor during the execution of the projects. In addition, he carries out or has carried out certain development, modification or troubleshooting work on PLC programs and operator interfaces. Attached to the maintenance department, he will be in charge of improving the reliability of equipment and he will replace the maintenance supervisor and the planner from time to time if necessary.

Agropur is seeking a Project Coordinator for its Beauceville plant.

The Project Coordinator participates in needs analysis, project design, coordination, and commissioning of CAPEX projects valued at less than $100,000 for the facility. The incumbent acts as a site supervisor during project execution. In addition, they perform or coordinate certain development, modification, and troubleshooting activities related to PLC programs and operator interfaces.


Reporting to the Maintenance Department, the Maintenance Project Coordinator will be responsible for initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and will occasionally serve as a backup for the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Planner when required.

Your role in achieving results:

  • Prepares CAPEX investment requests under $100K, and coordinates and supervises related projects and work.
  • Ensures follow-up training for maintenance employees, operators, and managers involved with automated systems.
  • Implements the necessary modifications to improve specific manufacturing sectors and processes.
  • Maintains, improves, and ensures the reliability of automation equipment, as well as remote troubleshooting and work tools.
  • Performs and oversees the maintenance of documentation related to automated systems (program management protocols, Agropur Quality Program, HACCP, SCADA, software updates, etc.).
  • Supports breakdown analyses (RCA/Failure Analysis) and deploys continuous improvement processes within the maintenance department.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • DEC in computer science, electrical engineering in automated production or equivalent.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years in automated industry with achievements in instrumentation and programming required.
  • Mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • Knowledge of GEM PLCs, Intouch Operator Interface and Autocad 14 would be an asset.
