About the Job


DACON Corporation is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to add to our team. The Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager in directing and overseeing the operations and activities of assigned projects. The overall goal of the Assistant Project Manager is to ensure a safe and quality project is completed on schedule and within budget, while enhancing client relationships. This is a full-time and in-person position; candidates must be able to travel to our Natick office and to local job sites.


The Assistant Project Manager works with the Project Manager to control the time, cost, and quality of construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager acts as a liaison between owners, architects, engineering, subcontractors and clients regarding project feasibility, cost, scheduling, completion, and close-out for multiple construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager maintains constant and effective communications with the team members, internal/external customers and vendors. The Assistant Project Manager will:


  • Maintain Procore records and logs including drawings, sketches, contracts, etc.
  • Implement and track of RFQ and bid packages to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and other project costs.
  • Update project schedule and 3-week look ahead schedule.
  • Prepare and archive meeting minutes.
  • Conduct site visits.
  • Compose take-offs and estimates.
  • Conduct subcontractor and owner meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver close outs and owners' manuals.
  • Coordinate BIM activities with architect and subcontractors.
  • Discuss and report follow-ups with project team, clients, and subcontractors/vendors.
  • Mentor team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:


  • 2+ years' experience in Construction Field Operations, preferably Commercial Construction.
  • 2+ years' experience in an Assistant Project Management role.
  • Bachelor's degree (or working toward) in Construction Management or associated field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Work well as part of a team to achieve a shared goal or outcome in an effective way.


Preferred Education and Experience:


  • 2+ years construction experience.
  • Emerging knowledge of principles of project management for building, engineering and architecture as related to design and construction.
  • Emerging proficiency with Excel, MS Project, and Procore.
