Job description

Summary An established general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role partners closely with field leadership and ownership to manage budgets, schedules, subcontracts, and client relationships across an active portfolio of ground-up and rehabilitation projects throughout California.

This is a strong opportunity for a PM who thrives in a fast-moving environment, takes ownership of their projects, and wants to grow with a builder that has a deep and consistent pipeline of multifamily work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all project management activities from buyout through final closeout
  • Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and owner billings
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field Superintendents
  • Oversee subcontractor buyout, contract execution, and scope-of-work development
  • Manage the RFI, submittal, and change order processes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and consultants
  • Coordinate with Superintendents on field sequencing, manpower, and logistics
  • Monitor compliance with contract documents, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Prepare and present project status reports for ownership and leadership
  • Support project closeout including punchlist management, final documentation, and owner turnover

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of project management experience within a GC environment
  • Ground-up multifamily or affordable housing construction experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, budgets, and scheduling
  • Experience managing subcontractor buyout and scope-of-work development
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with affordable housing compliance requirements (HUD, CTAC, SHRA, prevailing wage) a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
