Job description

Location: Columbia, SC

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 + Performance Bonus Potential

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controls projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a construction, HVAC, controls, or project coordination background who is looking to grow into a full Project Manager role.

Responsibilities
  • Support Project Managers with project setup, scheduling, and documentation
  • Track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project logs
  • Coordinate material procurement and vendor communication
  • Assist with job cost tracking and progress billing support
  • Participate in project meetings and site coordination
  • Help maintain QA/QC processes and project closeout documentation
  • Support project execution to ensure schedules, budgets, and customer expectations are met
  • Communicate effectively with field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience in construction, BAS, HVAC, controls, or project support roles
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems and building automation controls
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications (training available)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with ERP systems or project management software is a plus
