This position exists to drive the successful execution, commercial management, and financial health of highly complex building automation projects. By taking complete ownership of project lifecycles, resource forecasting, and risk mitigation, this role directly impacts the organization's profitability and its ability to consistently deliver sophisticated automation solutions that exceed client expectations.

Summary

We are seeking a financially savvy Project Manager to lead a high-performing team of engineers within the building automation sector. The primary focus of this role is balancing project financials, enforcing engineering standards, and serving as the principal commercial point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is an organized, commercially-minded leader who thrives when managing concurrent technical projects and navigating complex customer relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Manage large-scale and multiple concurrent building automation projects seamlessly from initial conception through final delivery.

  • Drive project margin accountability by proactively overseeing cost projections, cash flow reporting, and monthly job invoicing.

  • Establish and meticulously monitor project schedules to guarantee on-time delivery and operational excellence.

  • Forecast resource requirements accurately and present detailed scope and resource plans to divisional leadership.

  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks early, troubleshooting schedule deviations and executing necessary corrective actions.

  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for customers, negotiating terms and conditions while drafting and quantifying change orders.

  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, strictly enforcing engineering standards and rigorous quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal project management tools and actively participate in the companys Quality Management System (QMS).

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Years of Experience: 3 to 5+ years of proven project leadership experience, functioning successfully as a Project Manager or Technical Lead.

  • Industry Experience: Foundational understanding of HVAC systems within large Building Automation Systems (BAS), including familiarity with sequences of operations, P&IDs for plant utilities, instrumentation, and control valves.

  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Project and the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel). Experience with building automation or industrial controls (e.g., Rockwell, Schneider, AVEVA, Inductive Automation) is highly preferred.

  • Additional Experience: Previous onsite commissioning experience is a strong plus.

  • Core Competencies: Exceptional communication, strategic planning, and organization skills, with a proven track record of scheduling and leading highly effective meetings with internal engineering groups and external customers.
