Job description
While this position welcomes applications from individuals external to the university, current Academic Teaching Staff are first notified of available positions and will receive first consideration in accordance with the terms of the Academic Teaching Staff Agreement before considering external candidates for positions with a term 8 months or longer. This is a continuing Career status position.
Location - This position is in-person and is located in Edmonton, Alberta the Dianne & Irving Kipnes Health Research Academy and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic.
The Mike Petryk School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the discipline of Periodontology. The position has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026, although there is flexibility based on applicant availability.
Applicants will:
- Have graduated from an accredited DDS/DMD or equivalent program and have relevant postgraduate and clinical qualifications in the specialty of periodontology or an equivalent level as specified by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC).
- Be eligible for licensure with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA)
- Have a record of demonstrated teaching excellence and clinical skills in the area of periodontology.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

This position offers a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with Schedule D of the Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.
Responsibilities during the academic year are primarily focused on clinical and didactic teaching in the undergraduate and graduate periodontology programs. Research time may be allocated based on the candidate's research interest and experience. Time may also be allocated to private practice/ Professional (Clinical) Practice (if applicable).
