Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Portfolio Manager to take ownership of portfolio monitoring and lender reporting across our private credit platform. This role is designed for a high-performing credit professional ready to step into a Portfolio Manager track, with immediate responsibility for loan-level oversight, portfolio analytics, and direct communication with capital partners. You will work directly with the Capital Markets team and play a critical role in building an institutional-grade portfolio management function.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Portfolio Manager is an LA-based or AZ-based position on a hybrid schedule with at least three (3) days in-office. This position will report to the Director, Capital Markets. While not an exhaustive list, the Assistant Portfolio Manager will be responsible for:
  1. Portfolio Monitoring & Credit Oversight
  • Track loan maturities, extensions, payoff timelines.
  • Monitor delinquencies, defaults, watchlist loans.
  • Identify risks such as refinance risk, construction delays, and business plan execution.

  1. Lender & Capital Partner Communication
  • Serve as primary point of contact for lender requests.
  • Deliver loan updates, delinquency explanations, borrower updates, portfolio summaries.

  1. Borrower & Collateral Tracking
  • Monitor property performance and business plan execution.
  • Track covenant compliance and material loan events.

  1. Portfolio Reporting & Analytics
  • Build watchlists, dashboards, and portfolio reporting.
  • Support CFO and Capital Markets with insights and reporting.

Education and Experience
  • 5-10 years in private credit, real estate lending, or structured finance
  • Strong credit and loan analysis skills
  • Experience in portfolio monitoring, asset management, or credit analysis
  • Effective communication skills
  • High attention to detail

Compensation
This position is exempt, full-time, with salary range: $140K - $165K, plus discretionary bonus potential.
