Job description

Summary:
Park South Hotel, a JDV by Hyatt, is seeking a thoughtful, engaged Assistant Operations Manager to support daily hotel operations and deliver the warm, personalized hospitality Hyatt is known for. This leader will partner closely with the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams to ensure an exceptional guest experience, seamless departmental coordination, and strong colleague engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the daily oversight of Front Office, Housekeeping, and other operational areas as assigned.
• Foster a service-focused, inclusive culture that reflects Hyatt's purpose of caring for people so they can be their best.
• Maintain operational excellence by monitoring staffing, service delivery, and departmental performance.
• Partner with department leaders to coach, support, and develop colleagues.
• Assist with guest recovery, problem resolution, and service follow-up.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, hotel policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in scheduling, payroll review, inventory controls, and reporting.
• Support opening and closing procedures and act as Manager-on-Duty as needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain efficient, guest-ready operations.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of hotel operations leadership experience required.
• Experience working within a unionized NYC hotel environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of hotel operational workflows; familiarity with IWA-covered departments is a plus.
• People-first leadership style aligned with Hyatt values.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and coaching skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
• Proficiency with hotel PMS systems; Opera or Hyatt systems experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $68,000 to $74,000.
This range represents the good faith estimate of compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and operational needs.
