Physician - Hospital Medicine
Job Details:
  • Serve as Assistant Medical Director of Hospital Medicine, acting as a key member of the leadership team alongside the Practice Manager, Division Director, and administrative staff
  • Participate in Administrator on Call rotation, serving as the primary clinical and administrative point of contact for providers and hospital administration
  • Review cases from a clinical care management and quality standpoint, including reviewing pertinent risk documentation and promoting safe, quality care delivery
  • Support provider staff with challenging patient cases and provide performance feedback as needed
  • Work with patient advocates to facilitate patient concern issues and assist with grievances
  • Participate in divisional HR-related issues, including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new staff
  • Attend divisional meetings related to operations, scheduling, and staffing
  • Participate in running morning huddles and attend unit progression rounds while supporting the unit lead model
  • Mentor new hires and support growth and leadership opportunities within the division
  • Participate in meetings external to the division, including medicine cabinet, hospitalist council, and workgroups directly affecting hospitalist workflow
  • Guide staff in adherence to applicable standards of care, practice, and organizational expectations
  • Establish, evaluate, and monitor care processes, policies, and procedures to ensure appropriate hospital resource utilization
  • Provide clinical responsibilities both directly and indirectly through precepting with advanced practice providers and seeing patients clinically at the bedside
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice required; MD or DO degree required
  • EMR experience preferred, specifically with EPIC
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required; ability to communicate in additional languages is highly desirable
